French Toast ~ My Family Recipe

FRENCH TOAST – My Family’s Recipe

This is the French Toast Recipe that my Grandma, Mom and I made, and it was always so Delicious. In the mid 90’s my husband bought me a liter of Mexican Vanilla – I decided to add that to this recipe and OH MY GOODNESS – Fabulously DELICIOUS! PLEASE SEE NOTES BELOW!

1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/2 cup Sugar
8 Eggs
1/2 cup Milk
1 teaspoon Mexican Vanilla
1 Loaf Texas Toast

In a small bowl, combine cinnamon and sugar and set aside. In a medium size mixing bowl whisk eggs, milk, and vanilla add in cinnamon and sugar mixture – continue to whisk until sugar is dissolved. Dip bread in egg mixture. Fry slices until golden brown, then flip to cook the other side. Serve with warm syrup.

NOTES:
This recipe makes a lot – what I have leftover I put in the refrigerator or freezer for future breakfasts! To reheat I place in the toaster!

I like to use my KitchenAid 2-Speed Immersion Hand Blender to whisk the egg mixture – It makes the egg mixture extra fluffy!

I use an electric griddle to fry my French toast on. You can use a large skillet or a griddle pan.

CRUSTLESS PIZZA

CRUSTLESS PIZZA

Tastes like a pizza, cuts like a pizza, yet there is no dough so you will need a fork! This smells wonderful while it is baking and IF you have any leftovers they taste just as great the next day – maybe even better! We love our pizza with pepperoni slices, onion, green peppers, banana peppers and mushrooms. Serve with a tossed salad and you will have yourselves one fabulous meal!

INGREDIENTS:
2lb. Lean Ground Beef
2C. Shredded Mozzarella cheese
1C. Italian Blend cheese
1 – 16oz. Jar Pizza Sauce (I use Mid’s)
Pepperoni
Onion
Green pepper
Banana Pepper Rings
Mushrooms
*USE PIZZA TOPPINGS OF YOUR CHOICE*

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Meanwhile, brown the ground beef – I season the ground beef with Pepper, Garlic Salt and dried onions as I brown it; drain off grease. Place meat in a mixing bowl and mix with 2 cups of mozzarella cheese. Spread the mixture into a rectangle cookie sheet with sides – I used my pampered chef cookie sheet it’s 11 x 17…I recommend sides due to the fact some juices may run off into the oven. Top with pizza sauce, and then add the rest of the cheese and toppings. Bake for about 25 minutes or until cheese is melted and browned. This is a great low carb – high protein meal!

Added hints: I have used fresh garlic, onion, garlic salt and pepper while browning the ground beef and it added some nice flavor. I think this might even be good to eat on a bun! If you let it cool a little before slicing, the pieces hold together really nicely.

To Make this recipe lower in calories try using – 2% Cheese and Turkey Pepperoni.
